An Anniversary (50th) Album

This was a fun project made for a 50th wedding anniversary. I used the Always & Forever paper stack by Paper Studio.

When the Husband’s Away..

The wife will sleep. Ha! No, the littles miss Daddy, the 14 yr old misses him but mainly because he feels inclined to step up and help me out. Which is wonderful! I told him to keep his room door open to listen for the 1 yr old who was zoned out on his at-the-moment favorite show Cars: Mater’s Tales while I took my shower.  I’d just put the 3 & 4 yr olds to bed (not asleep yet) and knew it was now or never tomorrow (when my husband was expected back). So the 14 yr old happily volunteered (on his own y’all) to “watch” baby boy while I showered, he “watched” and played a little longer on his cell phone football game (wink).

Well, I waited for my Beloved to call and watched Mansfield Park, though I thought I’d seen it before. I had, but realized it a little past the beginning, so kept on watching. Love BBC films, they are always so tragically romantic. A lot like real life, I guess.

He called, we talked for a minute. Then he had to go settle down for bed and said he’d call me back. So back to my date with Mansfield Park I went. Then he called again, the only welcome interruption during my BBC shows. Then back to finish my show. A little, sleepy eyed cutie pie popped up rubbing his eyes, from his little bed in our room.  He joined me and fell back asleep next to me. It was around 1:30a I decided to call it a night.

So, I could have went to sleep a little early. But where’s the fun in that?

Happy he’s coming back soon.

Good day!

Baby Girl Mini Album

Saw and loved this paper from Craft Smith Co a little ways back. Well, after staring at it’s simple beauty for a few months, I picked it up. And I’m so glad I did.

I decided to make a mini album to hold baby girl memories in. It was a lot of fun to make. I HAD a full video of it, and still might (remaining hopeful)…. But I have mommy-brain a lot and CANNOT find it anywhere. (Too many electronic devices, maybe?)

I could kick myself that I cannot find the video…. I am hoping it’s not lost. Oh well, anyway I found a goofy video of me painting my nails to compliment the sparkle of this paper, the reality of what some of us go through to put up a video of our work, lol.

Supplies Used:

The Beautiful Craft Smith Co Blush Glam paper stack, my awesome Cutterpillar Pro ABS, my handy Martha Stewart Crafts Score Board, my handy Envelope Punch Board, handy, dandy ATG tool, this awesome Scor Tape, these oh-so-cute rhinestone flowers, this cute Bling on a Ring, and this cute Box Pleat Ribbon in light pink.

Thanks for stopping by!

Zumba.. Me?!

Yep. Let me get this out there. I CANNOT dance. So, I DO NOT dance. Rarely. If I do, it’s being silly with my littles (who are currently 1 yr old, 3 yrs old and 4 yrs old. My 14 yr old doesn’t even see me dance anymore, he’s too old, lol.

If you looked like this when you dance, well I guess you wouldn’t either.

Well, my dearly beloved husband got us a Y membership a few days ago. We’ve gone 2x now as a family, because it’s rare I go many places on my own with the littles in tow. It’s just so much work, especially during the Winter. All of the bundling up just gets to me.

My dear friend, who I met at a MOPs event, recently moved near where we live, also has a Y membership. So, we decided to bundle up the kiddos (she has a pink bun in the oven and a 1 yr old daughter) and meet at the Y. While there, walking side by side on treadmills, I met a new friend.

I complimented her hair because as a recent Natural (love her perspective on this “movement”), it’s nice to see someone of curliness else living as our Creator made us. Anyway, she gestured she was not hearing. So, I mustered up some courage, and finger spelling skills I’d learned back in 7th/8th grade with a friend’s encouragement and signed, “I can finger spell”. And we “talked” for the rest of my treadmill walk! My dear friend I met up with was graciously patient as I got to know my new friend a little better. THAT was the 1st real workout of the day. I was sweating by the end of my 30 minute treadmill session, but mainly from fingerspelling. Actually, from reading her hands because my brain processed that a lot slower than me finger spelling to her for some reason. It was awesome! I told her my friend was going to do the Zumba class and I was going to tag along and “try” it. She told me she did but walked out because she can’t hear it and it was too fast. Well, she went in there and tried again! Her Aunt was there, an older lady, doing the Zumba too.

I Zumba’d. For an ENTIRE hour! But I had a great time! And just MIGHT go back for some more of this, lol!

So… blogging, eh?

During the day, I have all these quirky, story-type thoughts in my head I’d like to write on my blog. But when I actually get the time to sit down at the laptop (because it’s ridiculous to blog on my phone) my mind draws a _____________. Maybe some day, but not today.

It’s 12:08am.

The baby (#4) just went to sleep about 20 minutes or so ago. Before that I’d just gotten around to my shower after, sitting next to baby (#3) girl’s bedside for about 20 minutes or so.

And now my mind is still drawing a _____________.

So, goodnight.

Card for my Dad

Well, for my Father in law, who is 80 years young (his words)!

Before I even talked to my husband I saw my Father in law at church first. He was my Mother in law’s primary caregiver, she was bed ridden for many years by then. She’s since passed on, and is dearly missed. My father in law was, is, a kind and gentle man who always managed to smile even when he probably didn’t feel like it.
A mutual friend of my husband’s and mine introduced us to each other over the phone. But before that she told me she wanted me to meet someone. So, I said a prayer (some of y’all know you dreaded/dread being matched up with who someone thought you’d be good with) and the thought crossed my mind.. “If he’s anything liked his Dad he’s alright with me. God be thanked, he is and more, and just for me 😍.

Anyway.. The card.

Someone kindly pointed out my goof, that I put short sleeves and that one long sleeve on the side! Wow.

I saw a card and thought I might give it a go. It was sew much fun and I totally see why there aren’t many sewn shirt cards, lol. I Pinterest searched many cards before deciding to try this awesome card by Mendi Yoshikawa. Thanks for the inspiration Mendi!

Minnie Mini Album Share

Screen Shot 2016-01-11 at 12.49.50 PMGoodnight/morning to you!

12:18 am for me right now. Before I hit the sack I must post my 1st video of the new year!

It’s of a mini album I completed back in November/December 2015 for my neighbor who went to Disney World over Winter Break.

It’s also my first time really having fun editing a video with Final Cut Pro X. Might as well use this nice software my husband purchased. I do believe he had a lot of fun making the music for this video too :).

Thanks for watching!
